Our family has been going through the book “Our Family Time with God” by Harold D. Vaughan during our evening family Bible time. It was so good that I thought I’d share a little of it with you…“Someone wisely said, ‘Expectations destroy relationships.’ When our expectations don’t come to pass, the result is disappointment; and serving becomes drudgery. What expectations have you placed on your family? I would encourage you to place higher expectations on yourself….Go the second mile in serving your family and watch what happens. Usually we expect family members to go the second mile in meeting our needs. When our expectations aren’t met, the natural result is bitterness.”..Expectations destroy relationships…that really stuck with me. Expecting our husband to do a certain thing, our children to behave a certain way…it can really apply to all our relationships. He ends by asking…”Are you a giver or a taker.”..P.S. I love this man! He is truly a giver.
